The Creative Arts Department of Victory Church on the Rock Grande Prairie (VGP) believes in helping the church answer those questions and flow in true worship.

The gift of artistic expression is for the glory of God. It is to draw the hearts of people into a greater knowledge and fellowship with Him. It is to inspire, equip and release the expressions of praise and love to a worthy God! Victory Church Grande Prairie uses every tool that God gives to express who He is and what He has done. Whether it be lyrics, melody, dance, drama, graphics, painting or flags; we believe that it can and should be used for the King and His Kingdom.  “Oh, sing to the Lord a new song! For He has done marvelous things…shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into song, rejoice, and sing praises. Sing to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and with the sound of a psalm, with trumpets and the sound of the horn; shout joyfully before the Lord, the King.” Psalm 98.  In addition to our in-church ministry we also enjoy using the arts to reach out into the community and minister to the lost. We believe music to be a universal tool that allows the Word to go out in a non- confrontational manner. We also have found dance, drama and even unusual mediums such as sand-sculpting can be very effective in sharing the gospel.  “He has put a new song in my mouth-praise to our God; many will see it and fear, and will trust in the Lord.” Psalm 40: 3

Original Worship Material
Victory Church on the Rock Grande Prairie (VGP) believes that the best worship songs have yet to be written, the best dances have yet to be danced and the best paintings have yet to be painted. God is doing a new thing in the earth in these last days and with every new move comes a release of new artistic expression. Our team encourages the development and use of original material.  Summer 2006 marked the release of our first recording entitled “ONE”. This project was the product of much prayer, passion and obedience. The title “ONE” speaks to the unity we believe is vital to the church today. One heart, one voice, one song of praise and love to our God. There are no barriers of age, race or gender in Him. We are all the body.  VGP strives to walk out this unity within the parameters of the team. You will see people from many different stages of life all serving together with one purpose, one heart. Our hope is that when you look at us you will not see a young team or an old team but rather a team that simply represents the unified body of Christ passionately serving God and others.

Flag Ministry
As part of our worship expression, Victory Church on the Rock Grande Prairie (VGP) loves to add the use of color and movement through flagging. The flag is a modern version of a “standard” or “banner” as is spoken about in the bible.  “We will shout for joy when you are victorious and we will lift up our banners in the name of our God” Psalm 20:5.  Although sometimes misunderstood, the flag ministry in worship is a valid and valuable expression. The movement and the prophetic symbolism of the colors help bring the invisible things of worship into a visual and understandable form.

Multi-Media Arts
We are presently in the early stages of incorporating multi-media arts into our creative process. We hope to have video production in place for use on our website as well as television and promotional materials in the near future.  We are at this time focusing production time and funds on our weekly services as well as a weekly radio program that is run on stations throughout the Peace Region. Once again we believe in using any means we can to reach people with the gospel of Jesus.
