Missions News
Mexico mission trip July 2010
As we began to sort all of the things the team brought to bless the mission base and the local people through the ministry outreaches, it was evident that this team had come well prepared. The amount of clothing, toys, medical, personal hygiene and other practical needs items was staggering. What a blessing it was to see so many delighted people receiving deodorant, soap and shampoo, toothbrushes with toothpaste, and more throughout the week. I don't think we have ever had a team bring so much to give away. Thank you all for generous hearts to buy all this, and then packing and lugging around all those extra suitcases. As it happens, we were completely drained of our stockpile of giveaways, and your timing was perfect to replentish the supply. Awesome!

Events began with a fun day for kids in the park, just a couple of blocks away from Victory House, and a great time was had by all. Puppets and a children's message highlighted this outreach to the neighborhood youngsters. Other ministries included visits to a men's and ladies rehab center, a "love Visit" to the Tijuana Dump, a fiesta at a migrant worker camp, and a large mission base and community feeding program. The ladies at the rehab center were especially blessed by a Quinceañera fiesta made possible by the team, along with a couple of individual donations. This is a traditional celebration of womanhood occurring on a girls 15th birthday. Dina helped us with finding a dress and she made and decorated the fabulous cake which followed the bbq hamburgers.

The team also did some amazing work on the mission base itself. Pouring a concrete floor in the new storage building was the main task the team was asked to take on. They also had a welder on the team who made some repairs and adjustments to the front gates, a carpenter who made some repairs and improvements around the house, vehicles were checked over and tweaked, storage was organized and new shelves built, and more. A lot of cleanup of weeds and garbage in and around the property was also done. The team also blessed us with a donation to allow us to further the base projects before the next scheduled teams visit in October.

What a blessing this week has been! Cindy and I, Johnny, Brittany and Sydney, send our thanks for all the ways you guys have blessed us and the people of our neighborhood, and all those touched throughout the ministries you all made possible. God bless you, and may He manifest, magnify, and multiply His blessings back to you.

PTL!
