Is Your Pain Working For You?
While God is not the cause of or author of pain, He is able to redeem even the worst situations and grow us through the things that have hurt us. As Paul says in 2 Corinthians 4:17:
“For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,”
These momentary afflictions will pass, but the end result of our walk with The Lord is not even remotely comparable because of the glory that will be revealed on the day of The Lord, the resurrection of the dead, and the consummation of time, on which God’s ultimate purpose for Gos creation and for us as His children will be fully realized.
Pain can harden our hearts, or it can be a tool in the hands of God to shape us further into the image of Christ, who suffered more than any man to become the once and for all sacrifice for the sin of the whole world, and to draw mankind back to God through the forgiveness we receive through His on suffering in our place: “by His stripes, we are healed”
The question then is this: IS YOUR PAIN WORKING FOR YOU? Because with God all things are possible, and He can lead us through anything to make us better instead of bitter.
