LIMITS

The year was 1954, the date May , 6. The weather conditions were less than favourable, it was windy and had been raining. There was a strong cross wind blowing across the track as Roger Bannister stepped up to run the one mile race. At that time many people had attempted to break the four minute mile time but had not been able to.

According to reports there seemed to be a psychological barrier prohibiting this barrier to be broken.

At 6:00pm even with these less than optimal conditions the race started. When Roger crossed the finish line the time was announced, 3 minutes 59.4 seconds, the barrier was broken.
This started a whole new expectation level for the track and field athletes. Rogers record did not last long as others realized what could happen. The current record is 3 minutes 43.13 seconds. What was the difference between May 5 and May 7? The mindset of the athletes, the limit that was there before was no longer.

The question I have to ask myself and encourage you to ask yourself is, are there any limits that I have placed on my life that limits God from doing what He wants to do in my life.
I know the religious answer is Ephesians 3:20amp

Now to Him who by, ( in consequence of) the ( action of His) power that is at work within us, is able to [carry out His purpose and] do super abundantly, far over and above all that we [dare] ask or think [infinitely beyond our highest prayers, thoughts, hopes and dreams]
You might say, see Brad through God I have no limits. I agree God does not want you to have limits on your life but look closely, God is able. This does not say automatic. You might say, look at our conditions, the economy the whatever there’s in your life.

God never said Ephesians 3:20 is for you when all conditions in your life are perfect. God said Ephesians 3:20 applies for you despite the conditions in your life.

I have learned that this is a maturing in the Lord process. Matthew 11:28-30 in the message helped give me the answers.

“28 Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion. Come away with Me, get away with Me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with Me and work with Me, watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of Grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill fitting on you. Keep company with Me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.
Ephesians 3:20 is often seen as the mountain moving scripture for our lives but what if it is much more.

All scripture is from God so let's look at these two passages closer:

Are you tired, worn out, burned out on religion? This sounds like many people that I talk with. Jesus gives us the answers, get away with Me and you’ll recover your life. Jesus also said, I’ll show you how to take a real rest, learn the unforced rhythm of Grace.

Ephesians 3:20 says “ by ( in consequence of) the action of His power that is at work within us.
As we learn to get away with Him, walk with Him, work with Him we can find true rest and flow in His rhythm of Grace,

I have realized that I don’t have to force myself to push limits out of my life. As I learn to walk in His unforced rhythms and work with Him the limits that I have placed on my life are fading away.

I encourage you not to look at your life and say I need to change this or change that but just focus on spending time with Him and focus on Him. As we spend time with God , He takes all our limits, our addictions, and habits that are not pleasing to Him and performs Ephesians 3:20. He will do far over and above all that we dare ask or think.

God Bless have a great day walking in Gods unforced rhythms of Grace.
